A big thank you to the staff and manager at The Red Lion for taking care of and managing Mom's wake. From the 1st tentative enquiry through to the attentive but unobtrusive service at the wake itself, all of the staff were courteous, sympathetic and professional. The food was also very good indeed.
Lovely hotel, very clean good service. Rooms are compact but have everything you need including a clock if needed with full bathroom. Definitely recommend. Food lovely and breakfast cooked to order
We ate here, the Google system treats this as a hotel but it's more than that. Fascinating historic place with a central carriage aisle and side rooms. The food was fine, we had the 2 for £20 deal. Basic but nice, great value. Service was fine too, wine a tad pricey. Based on this I recommend the Red Lion
Very nice room. Clean and warm. One observation might think about putting a mini fridge in room for milk and other peshribles , great stay friendly staff and full of history. Very nice food .
We held my late mother's wake at the Red Lion and I just wanted to express my gratitude to the staff for their wonderful service. We had more people turn up than expected and needed more cups and plates, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they made the whole experience stress free. There was plenty of tea of coffee and the food was exceptional. Thank you again!
The entire experience at the Red Lion in Atherstone was absolutely wonderful. We dined here with friends last weekend and enjoyed it so much that we returned for breakfast today. My pregnant wife ordered two English breakfasts and also asked for a fruit bowl for some extra nutrition, but we were told there weren’t any fruit bowls available. After we paid and sat down, Natalia came over with two pieces of fruit and said, “I know it’s not a fruit bowl, but here you go.” She even brought a bowl of water for our dog. That thoughtful gesture and attention to detail truly stood out. Exceptional service all around, we couldn’t recommend this place enough.
We use this hotel quite regularly to visit family. The staff are great welcoming and there is a lovely reading room. Great for a mid morning coffee. Love the historical touch with rooms named after knights at Bosworth.Lovely little market town, great history.
Very lovely quaint rooms with a nice older look but nice character. Clean and good facilities, staff very helpful take notes of any issues and do their best to make your stay 5*
